We are pleased to soon be welcoming guests back to New Zealand from every corner of the globe.  Full details for when New Zealand’s borders are opening may be viewed here.

We have protocols in place which follow the guidelines set by both the Ministry of Health and the Civil Aviation Authority, and we treat these minimum standards very seriously. For your additional safety, all our frontline tourism staff, including guides, pilots, and hospitality staff, are fully vaccinated having taken part in the New Zealand COVID-19 vaccination program.

With the latest update for the hospitality sector from our New Zealand Government, guests travelling with us from Tuesday, 5 April 2022 will no longer be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Pandemic Safe Work with Aircraft Client Responsibilities


We look forward to having you fly with us soon. To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce any potential risk of exposure Alpine Helicopters, will ensure to present you with a sanitised aircraft, base, and vaccinated crew.

Under New Zealand’s COVID-19 Protection Framework and in accordance with Government Health regulations we kindly ask as a guest of Alpine Helicopters for your cooperation with the following protocols:

  1. All passengers are required to complete a simple Health Declaration prior to flying with us, view here.

  2. We ask that you stay at home if you have a cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms or are feeling unwell. If you start to feel unwell during your experience with us, please advise one of our team as soon as possible.

  3. We ask that you adhere to any required physical distancing requirements whilst on our premises, with our team and other groups . Safety briefings will be conducted while maintaining appropriate physical distancing. Where possible, the seat immediately next to the pilot should remain empty.

  4. Face coverings are mandatory when in the confined space of the helicopter cabin by both passengers and staff. The Pilot may be exempt on safety grounds only.

  5. It is important that you use basic hygiene measures, including washing your hands, coughing or sneezing into your elbow, and cleaning surfaces. Hand sanitisers will be available for your use upon arrival.

  6. Our friendly team is happy to discuss any further requirements you might have.


  • At any time the pilot in charge (PIC) believes flight safety is compromised by PPE during a phase of flight then the pilot can decide to not use that PPE.

  • The PIC can use discretion on the use of PPE depending on the aircraft's configuration.
